Featuring: Alexandra Berta
Turkish and Hungarian folk music pure and stirring. Mária Guessous Majda, known by most as Mesi, is a Hungarian-Moroccan rising star on the folk scene. The award-winning singer delves confidently into the tradition of different cultures, her captivating voice revealing both the common core and distinguishing beauty of melodies. She got initiated into Turkish folk by Mercan Erzincan, acclaimed singer and shaz player in Istanbul. Iván Barvich on naval and tárogató, Dávid Gerzson Boros on percussion complete the trio. A heart-felt and refined contemporary rendition of Kodály’s thought.
The concert features Alexandra Berta, awarded zither player and folk singer.
