Finely ground aromatic coffee, heated but never boiled, is the secret to this traditional refreshment; the perfect accompaniment to Pont Festival’s programmes. Have it with honeyed baklava & enjoy the taste of Turkic cultures.
Nowruz, or the Persian New Year ( also called Noo-ruz or Nauroz, among others) is a spring festival celebrated by an estimated 190 m people over the world. It was added to UNESCO’s intangible heritage list in 2016, where it is registered with 12 countries.
Fire jumping, horse races, egg painting, tight-rope walking are just a few customs associated with the holiday, but Nowruz delicacies and family meals are central everywhere.
At Pont Festival you can have a taste of Azerbaijani and Iranian dishes, and feast your eyes over Haft Sin: a decorated Iranian Nowruz table.
